The one where I ask a BCS expert to talk K-State fans off the ledge
The Kansas City Star
So, even after yesterday’s events that may end up as the most important night in Kansas State football since the 2003 Big 12 championship, I hear plenty of EMAW-‘rica utterly convinced they’re about to screwed by Notre Dame squeezing into a national championship game against Oregon.
Now, I think we all understand that the season isn’t over and that Oregon, K-State and Notre Dame each have to win out for this drama to matter but I thought I’d try to put ‘Cats fans minds at ease a bit.
Since I don’t fully understand the BCS formula, I asked someone who does — the noted Jerry Palm — to explain why K-State fans shouldn’t worry about an undefeated season ending up anywhere but in the national championship.
His response:
“The voters aren’t on board with ND. If the win over Oklahoma didn’t impress them, there isn’t anything the Irish can do.”
Does that help?
